N-1 Deck Leather Jacket

A full-leather take on the United States Navy’s N-1 deck jacket, made by REAL SIMONS, our maker partner. The N-1 was the cold-weather jacket issued to sailors working open decks in the 1940s: short and boxy, buttoned to the chin, with a deep fur collar and a drawcord hem to keep the wind out. This version keeps that silhouette and builds it in thick full-grain goatskin, with a genuine sheepskin shearling collar, horn anchor buttons and an IDEAL zipper from the heritage CONMAR line.

Inside, a quilted lining filled with 3M Thinsulate Type M insulation (100 g/m²) gives light, even warmth, and a detachable leopard-print pile vest buttons in for the coldest days or comes out for a lighter jacket. Cuffs are all-wool rib knit; pocket bags are cotton corduroy. The cut is wide and layer-friendly. Offered in Black (oil-waxed goatskin) and Brown (water-dyed goatskin with no surface coating, so grain and colour vary from hide to hide).
