Description

Crafted under wartime constraints between 1942 and 1945, the Mobilization model recreates the rugged, simplified denim issued during America’s military production surge.

The Mackinnon Special Edition honors a serviceman’s personal field modifications — restoring wartime-simplified elements such as waistband bucklebacks and pocket flaps for improved function. Made with the same coarse, slub-heavy denim used in the standard model, this version includes an uncoated iron buckle designed to rust naturally, a red triangle tab made from artificial silk prone to fraying, and added reinforcement details not found in the base wartime spec.

Based on wartime U.S. denim with personalized field modifications by soldier Bruce Mackinnon (San Jose, 1940s)
14.5oz coarse indigo raw selvedge denim with irregular slub and visible weaving defects for historically accurate texture
Mid-to-high rise / straight leg / relaxed top block with full seat and thigh
Raw iron buckleback — uncoated to rust naturally with wear
Slanted paint-printed back pocket graphic
Japanese cotton threads in thick, uneven gauges (#0–50)
Copper-plated iron rivets (exposed and hidden)
Mismatched thread tension and occasional fabric variation accepted as part of the wartime story
Cold water wash only
Deep indigo dye will gradually fade
Pre-soak in warm water for 30 minutes before first wear (cold water for less shrink, hot for more)
