The Studded Belt Project: Almost Ready to Launch - Brake House

The Studded Belt Project: Almost Ready to Launch

After the Garrison belt, our second belt project is almost here. You chose the three designs — Diamond, Rodeo, and Montgomery — and we wore them all over China to be sure.

After the Garrison belt, the studded belt is the second project we've quietly been building — and it's almost ready. The difference this time is simple: you chose it.

Picking Up Where We Left Off

For the past few weeks we've been in China, meeting our partners and working through a stretch of business we'd put off for too long. In between those conversations, our second belt project quietly moved to the edge of launch.

The Difference Between "We Think" and "You Think"

If the Garrison belt taught us one thing, it's that the product we find beautiful and the product you find beautiful aren't always the same. So this time we wanted to gather as many opinions as we could while the belt was still on the drawing board — and we went a step further than usual, handing the very first decision to you: which designs we should launch at all. Your votes narrowed the field to three.

You voted; we listened. Of the four candidates, A, B, and D made the cut.

Many of you have already seen this board. As you move from A to D, the design grows busier and more ornate. Our first instinct was to tool every one of them in a dense, decorative leather pattern — but after asking around and talking it through, we took A in a simpler, lattice-like direction instead. We're glad we did.

Worn-In, All Over China

The real test was wearing them. Both of us kept these belts on through the entire trip, and we couldn't have been happier. The ornate face adds something to an outfit on its own, and the leather is thick and substantial — the kind of honest leather you could wear for the rest of your life.

Three Names We're Trying On: Diamond, Rodeo, Montgomery

The names aren't final, but for now we're calling them Diamond, Rodeo, and Montgomery — from the simplest grid through to the most jewelled. Seeing all three lined up together is when it finally felt real.

A quick thank-you, too, to everyone who took the survey. This belt is genuinely shaped by your feedback — and we haven't forgotten it. Survey participants, keep an eye on your inbox for a small thank-you when we launch.

Behind the Scenes at the Shoot

This week we photographed the belts, and since the studio is half the fun, here are a few cuts from the day.

Launch details are coming to your inbox soon. Honestly, thanks to your interest and support, getting this one ready has been a pleasure from start to finish. If you missed where this began, here's where we left off — and the Garrison belt that started our belt story.

Don't miss the launch

We'll share the first photos and the launch date on Instagram before anywhere else.
