“Pasadena” 1930s Half Belt Single Sports Leather Jacket

A 1930s sports jacket, named for the half belt set low across the back. The style descends from the English Norfolk jacket and became an everyday American leather jacket, which is why it is still simply called the “1930”. Straight zip, turn-down collar, three front pockets, waist adjusters and the half belt at the back all stay as they were.

Why “Pasadena”

Pasadena is an old city just east of Los Angeles, a town of Craftsman houses and colleges with Route 66 running through it from 1926. This is the kind of short leather sports jacket worn there in the 1930s to drive, to cross a campus and to get through an ordinary day. That is how we mean it to be worn now.

REAL SIMONS reworks the details for 2026: a back cut from a single hide instead of pieced panels, collar points opened out, and a stand in both outer and under collar so it holds its shape down or up.

The shell is “Padova”, a horsehide REAL SIMONS developed in 2023 from AA-grade Polish hides with extra oil and casein in retanning: supple and clean-grained. Black is a tea-core finish over a brown core that shows through with wear. Seal Brown is water-dyed, a deep brown with red depth that gains shine.
