Description

Same build as the standard 3450, recast in Horween Chromexcel (CXL), Essex, or Dublin on Goodyear welt construction, with the same Italian VIBRAM® Tygum 705 outsole as the standard 3450. Horween Leather Co. (founded 1905) is known for rich oils and deep aging character.

A sharp, narrow toe gives the 3450 a clean profile. Pairs well with tapered or straight-leg denim.

How to measure

Stand up with your weight even on both feet, wearing the socks you’ll wear with the boots.
Put a sheet of paper against a wall; stand with your heel touching the wall.
Mark the tip of your longest toe, then measure heel-to-mark (cm or inch).
Measure both feet and use the longer one.

Went with a custom Horween CXL option and you can immediately tell the difference. The leather has a deep, oily feel and already shows some character even before break-in. Break-in was there, but not brutal. Usually wear a US 10 in boots and stuck with that here. Fit came out dialed, snug at first, now molds perfectly. The silhouette is cleaner than most engineer boots I have owned, which makes it easier to wear with slimmer denim. Feels like a pair I will keep in rotation for years.
