A reinterpretation of Levi's iconic 557XX "Type 3" jacket, first introduced in the 1960s. Retaining the signature V-seam chest design, flap pockets, and longer, slimmer fit — translated into horsehide. Offered in Padova tea-core or a new 2025 burgundy shrink-grain finish.

Details

The Type 3 marked Levi's shift from workwear to modern casual style — V-seams replacing pleats, chest pockets raised. By the 1980s, handwarmer pockets were added; this leather edition is based on that later pattern
Padova tea-core: AA-grade Polish base, ages with a warm patina as the core reveals
Burgundy shrink-grain (new 2025 development): Italian-inspired hides with large natural grain and heavy oil-wax for a thick, pliant hand
Slimmer and longer than earlier Levi's: shorter body, expanded chest, tapered sleeves
Five-button closure with custom large snaps
One-piece sleeve undersides; horsehide-reinforced cuffs and pocket openings
Lining: rayon (burgundy) or heavy twill cotton (tea-core)
